I just went and received my tickets for the Berlinale Film Festival today and let me tell you, I got very lucky. The first film I’ll be seeing is not a film at all but a lecture with Edward Lachman A.S.C ( Virgin Suicides, Erin Brockovich, I’m not there, etc) called “Through the Lens”. He will be discussing his work along with talking about working with famed directors Werner Herzog, Wim Wenders, Todd Haynes, Steven Soderbergh, Ulrich Seidl, and Todd Solondz. This I’m sure will prove to be one of my favorite events at Berlinale!
The films I’ll be seeing are as follows,
Werner Herzog’s “Death Row: Portraits” in which Herzog documents several inmates on death row in America. I’m sure with his eccentric and straight forward documentary style this one is surely not to disappoint.
A Collective of Short Films - Not too sure about this one as there are several films from a variety of directors, will give a better description after I attend the viewing.
Stephen Elliot’s “Cherry” Starring James Franco & Heather Graham - Its about a troubled young women who gets into San Francisco’s porn scene and it has gotten some interesting reviews already.
Looking forward to a fun and busy week at Berlinale Film Festival 2012!

This is part one of my recent shoot in California. I was with fellow filmmaker and good friend Joe Lawry from New Zealand and the rest of the Freebord Team. We shot the majority of this on 2 5D MkIIs and a 60D. More to come!
